KEYS
|
You will be issued two Lyric building keys. One will open all outside
doors, the other will open building doors plus the tech and prop rooms. You will probably want to keep the
key that opens building doors only and give the one that opens the tech room to your production manager. KEYS
MUST BE RETURNED TO THE BUSINESS MANAGER! Do NOT give keys to people on the next production!
|
CLEAN-UP
|
You are responsible for the cleanliness and security of the Theatre
while your play is in production. Cast and crew should clean up after every rehearsal and work session.
Smoking, food and drinks are only allowed in the Annex and any messes must be cleaned up promptly. Insist
that everyone stay out of the Auditorium, lobby and balcony areas as much as possible. Be sure that the
Theatre is properly locked up before you leave it.
|
SET STRIKING
|
You are responsible for striking your set. The stage must be clear no later
than the Thursday following your last performance. Note that set-striking includes removal of all non-TCT property
from the building and properly storing all TCT props. Be sure that all borrowed props and set pieces are promptly
returned in good condition. While you may delegate this to your production manager, YOU are responsible for seeing
that it gets done.
|
PUBLICITY
|
The Business Manager will handle routine publicity, which includes public
service announcements (PSAs) about auditions and the production dates, notices on local billboards and co-op ads
for the production in local business ads. Unless you specify otherwise, she will schedule you for appearances
on the local television shows. The Business Manager will also try to arrange for at least one story in the
local newspaper to run just before production dates. Any help that you can provide in the way of pictures or
additional contacts with media people will ensure that your play is well-publicized.
|
PROPS
|
You and your production crew are responsible for providing the set props
needed for your production and you should encourage the cast to find their own personal props, but if you need
help, feel free to call on one of the Production Committee members. Be sure to let the Publicity Chairman know
about any person or organization donating props or materials for the show so that we can acknowledge them in
the play program. TCT props may be found in the prop rooms upstairs in the Lyric building and at the Warehouse.
Do not allow ANYONE in the prop or costume rooms without appropriate supervision and do NOT leave them unlocked.
|
SET MATERIALS
|
Set construction materials may be found in the Annex and at the Warehouse.
If other materials are needed, try to get them donated, if possible. If you must purchase set materials, consult
with the Building Committee Chairman. No large purchases may be made in the Theatre's name without prior approval
by the Building Committee Chairman.
|
EXPENSES
|
If you or other production staff members spend your own money to buy set
materials or props, leave the receipt and any necessary explanation on the Business Manager's desk and she will get you a
reimbursement check as quickly as possible. If you keep all your expenses turned in to the Business Manager, we will be able
to give you a running total on your expenditures for production and other supplies so that you can tell how
well you are doing against your budget.
|
PROGRAMS
|
The Publicity Committee works with each director in developing posters and
programs for the production. The Committee is responsible for approving all artwork and layout design, for
taking posters and programs for printing and for scheduling distribution of posters with the Lyric Guild President.
All program material (cast list, production company list, acknowledgements) must be in the Publicity Chairman's
hands no later than Monday of the week before production week. Additional acknowledgements will be made in the
pre-show safety announcement.
|
EVALUATIONS
|
The Board takes seriously its obligation to make each production a
worthwhile experience to the audience and to the cast and crew. Members of the Board submit written
evaluations on the overall artistic effect of each production and production company members are asked
to provide an evaluation of their experience by means of a standard questionnaire. The specifics of
both of these surveys are held in confidence, but the general results will be shared with you shortly
after your production has concluded.
